How to Price Your Car for a Fast Sale. Naturally, the more attractive and affordable the price, the easier it is to sell. However, as sellers, we always want to get the highest return possible. The key is to find that perfect sweet spot—a reasonable price that ensures both a quick sale and a satisfying return. Here is how you can do it:

  1. Research the Market: Visit websites like One2car and Taladrod, then search for the exact same make, model, year, and a similar mileage to your car.
  2. Analyze the Price Range: Look at the lowest and highest listing prices and note them down. For example, you might see prices ranging from 400,000 to 480,000 THB. Also, identify the most common average price range where most listings cluster, such as 430,000 THB.
  3. Set Your Target Price: Your ideal selling price should fall between the lowest market price and the most common price—in this case, between 400,000 and 430,000 THB.

Exception: If your car has premium features that add value—such as expensive alloy wheels, custom body kits, or an active manufacturer warranty—you can comfortably ask for a higher price since your vehicle offers more than the average listing.

Where to Post for Maximum Visibility?

You never know when someone driving behind you might be looking for exactly what you’re selling!

Photography Techniques to Make Your Car Look Ready for Sale

  1. Remove everything from the car: Clear out all personal belongings, including community entry stickers, car fresheners, pillows, and tissue boxes.
  2. Wash the car thoroughly: Applying a layer of wax is highly recommended to give the exterior a brilliant, glossy finish.
  3. Park in an open, outdoor area: If outdoor photography isn’t an option, indoor shooting is perfectly acceptable, but ensure every single light is turned on and the area is well-lit.
  4. Take 8 exterior shots: These should cover the front, left side, right side, rear, and all 4 diagonal angles. (Note: If a website limits the number of uploads, you can reduce this to just the 4 diagonal angle shots).
  5. Take at least 4 interior shots: Including 1. Front seats, 2. Rear seats, 3. The entire front dashboard/console, and 4. The instrument cluster showing the exact odometer mileage.
  6. Photograph standard emergency equipment: Show items like the factory emergency tool kit and the spare tire.
  7. Take 2 wheel and tire shots: 1. A full view of the wheel to showcase the rim and overall condition, and 2. A close-up of the tire sidewall displaying the DOT code that indicates the tire’s manufacturing year.
  8. Highlight special features: Snap photos of premium amenities like rear air conditioning vents, power seat switches, the backup camera display, or park assist systems.
  9. Show included bonuses: For example, take a picture of a dashcam if you are including it with the sale.

Tips for Writing a Car Listing Description

  1. Include essential baseline details: Make, model, color, model year, transmission type, and mileage. If your vehicle has a specific trim level, be highly detailed. Example: 2016 White Toyota Vios (J Trim), Automatic Transmission, Mileage: 56,635 km.
  2. Provide financial details buyers need to know: For instance, if the car is still under financing, specify how many installments have been paid and how many remain.
  3. Be transparent about defects: Mention notable flaws, such as a minor scratch on the driver’s door or a faulty power recline on the passenger seat. Being upfront builds trust and makes buyers feel much more confident dealing with you.
  4. Highlight standout features and selling points: Mention if it’s a single-owner car, rarely driven, meticulously maintained, or serviced exclusively at authorized dealer centers. Highlight unique specs like a sunroof, hands-free power tailgate (kick sensor), custom body kits, upgraded alloy wheels, a Bose sound system, or a recently renewed car insurance policy.
  5. Clearly state the price and terms: Explicitly list your asking price and any specific conditions, such as who covers the ownership transfer fee or if you accept cash-only buyers.
  6. Specify the car’s location: State where the car is kept (e.g., On Nut area) and your preferred locations for a viewing or test drive.
  7. Provide contact info: Clearly display the seller’s name and phone number.

Common Reasons Why a Car Isn’t Selling

  • Overpricing: Setting the price too high without cross-checking current market rates.
  • Low Visibility: Listing on too few platforms, resulting in minimal exposure.
  • Lack of Detail or Photos: Uploading only a single photo with no description. Most buyers will simply scroll past an empty listing.
  • Poor Customer Service: Showing a reluctance to engage with potential buyers—such as refusing to send extra photos or failing to provide basic information about the vehicle.

💡 Still stuck? If you have tried all the steps above and the car still won’t sell, you might want to consider taking it to a car auction house. If the vehicle doesn’t sell there, you typically won’t incur any charges.
